Senior Feature Animator - ILM Vancouver

The role is considered Hybrid, requiring 2-3 days onsite at a designated location and occasional remote work.

What You'll Do
    • Bring a diverse cast of stylized characters and whimsical creatures to life, executing high-level performance, acting, and musical timing that aligns with the director's creative vision.
    • Comprehend and execute direction from the Lead Animator and Animation Supervisor.
    • Own complex shots and key sequences from initial blocking through to final animation, ensuring performance and stylistic consistency across the film.
    • May supervise the work of entry, mid, and mid high level animators at the discretion of the Animation Supervisor.
    • Participate as a team member in achieving various aesthetic solutions; provide feedback to other members of the production by attending dailies on a regular basis.
    • Expected to train and mentor new Animators as well as provide technical assistance to the show supervisors before and during production.
    • Maintain or exceed a consistent level of productivity while meeting deadlines and producing high quality work.
    • Perform other tasks related to the creation of computer generated animation.
Qualifications
    • 5+ years of relevant professional Feature Animation experience and at least a college level diploma or higher in computer graphics, fine arts, design, photography, or a related field; OR 7+ years of relevant professional Feature Animation experience in lieu of education.
    • Previous experience working on stylized animation or musical features is highly advantageous.
    • Expert knowledge of traditional animation principles, acting, film production, and compositional design.
    • Exceptional animator skills demonstrated by portfolio, demo reel, and/or references.
    • Excellent organization and communication skills.
    • Proficiency with Linux desired.
    • Expert knowledge of Maya, proprietary and other software programs, including chaining and constraint techniques.
