Senior Feature Animator - ILM Vancouver

The role is considered Hybrid, requiring 2-3 days onsite at a designated location and occasional remote work.
What You'll Do- Bring a diverse cast of stylized characters and whimsical creatures to life, executing high-level performance, acting, and musical timing that aligns with the director's creative vision.
- Comprehend and execute direction from the Lead Animator and Animation Supervisor.
- Own complex shots and key sequences from initial blocking through to final animation, ensuring performance and stylistic consistency across the film.
- May supervise the work of entry, mid, and mid high level animators at the discretion of the Animation Supervisor.
- Participate as a team member in achieving various aesthetic solutions; provide feedback to other members of the production by attending dailies on a regular basis.
- Expected to train and mentor new Animators as well as provide technical assistance to the show supervisors before and during production.
- Maintain or exceed a consistent level of productivity while meeting deadlines and producing high quality work.
- Perform other tasks related to the creation of computer generated animation.
- 5+ years of relevant professional Feature Animation experience and at least a college level diploma or higher in computer graphics, fine arts, design, photography, or a related field; OR 7+ years of relevant professional Feature Animation experience in lieu of education.
- Previous experience working on stylized animation or musical features is highly advantageous.
- Expert knowledge of traditional animation principles, acting, film production, and compositional design.
- Exceptional animator skills demonstrated by portfolio, demo reel, and/or references.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Linux desired.
- Expert knowledge of Maya, proprietary and other software programs, including chaining and constraint techniques.
