Step into a crucial leadership role with the Independent Investigations Office of BC as the Deputy Chief Director of Investigations in Surrey. You will influence how law enforcement is overseen in critical situations. Reporting to the Chief Civilian Director, you will lead the IIO in conducting investigations into incidents involving police and foster public trust in law enforcement. The role requires expertise in criminal law and a commitment to addressing critical oversight challenges and public concerns. Key Responsibilities: • Lead comprehensive investigations into police incidents • Support public confidence and trust in law enforcement • Strategically develop and implement organizational goals • Communicate with stakeholders and the media • Tackle high-profile investigative challenges effectively Requirements: • Substantial Canadian criminal law knowledge • Successful leadership track record in complex organizations • Strong media and report writing capabilities • Insights into the impacts of systemic racism on policing • Required to undergo Enhanced Security Screening and Conflict Disclosure Help strengthen civilian oversight of police practices through your leadership as Deputy Chief Director.
