In deal recovery management you will focus on helping clients navigate financial distress and recover from challenging business situations, providing strategic advice and solutions to optimise recovery outcomes.
As a Restructuring Director, you will work with the partner team to source new restructuring mandates, lead teams to execute advisory & restructuring mandates and support the development and growth of our restructuring team generally.
Responsibilities- Actively participate in and initiate business development activities to source new mandates
- Help develop and implement turnaround or realization plans to maximize recoveries to stakeholders
- Conduct financial analysis and develop detailed financial and cash flow forecasts, including sensitivity analysis
- Apply business acumen to develop or assess business plans that support turnaround initiatives
- Work with additional advisors to integrate tax, regulatory and legal considerations into turnaround or realization plans
- Coordinate the execution of distressed M&A or refinancing activities
- Assist in preparing high quality presentations and reports for key stakeholders
- Take a hands on role to manage stakeholders and lead change
- Run in court and out of court restructuring or realization processes
- Support learning and development of team members through in flight learning and regular feedback
- A professional accounting designation, or an international equivalent, or a similar postgraduate designation demonstrating financial, business or management expertise
- Equivalent years of experience in a professional services or business advisory environment
- Specific financial restructuring, operational restructuring or insolvency experience, including advising debtors and creditors and acting pursuant to appointments under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act
- Pursuing or holding the CIRP designation by the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals (CAIRP) and the Licensed Insolvency Trustee designation by the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy (OSB)
- Strong technical skills, including the ability to evaluate financial results and detailed cash flow forecasts
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, communication and report writing skills, including experience with court reports and complex deliverables
- Strong project management skills and the ability to lead high performing teams
- Solid client relationship development and business development abilities
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% of the time within Canada and internationally
The posted salary range for this position is $147,300 - $197,300.
