
Overview
Our Prince George, BC–based client is seeking a Desktop Support Specialist for a 3-month contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is fully onsite and requires hands-on experience supporting end users in a corporate environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day IT support for office hardware, including PCs, laptops, printers, and boardroom equipment
- Support operating systems, Microsoft 365, and other business applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently, escalating when required
- Manage and respond to service requests via phone, email, walk-ins, and ServiceNow
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware, operating systems, and software applications
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and related issues
- Administer user accounts and support a client-server environment
- Identify recurring issues and implement long-term solutions to improve stability
- Ensure timely resolution of tickets while maintaining strong customer service standards
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a Help Desk or Desktop Support role
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 (O365 suite)
- Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and basic networking issues
- Hands-on experience with device setup, installation, and configuration
- Familiarity with ticketing systems (ServiceNow preferred)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
