QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Licensing: you are either licensed by the Law Society of British Columbia or have another Canadian provincial or territorial and can transfer to BC.
2. Immigration law knowledge: a minimum of two years experience as an immigration lawyer and able to start file work immediately.
3. Efficiency and effectiveness: must be well-organized, able to identify priorities, recognize the extent of research required, submit applications in a timely fashion, and communicate well and frequently with clients.
4. Proven Track Record: demonstrated ability to manage a portfolio of files, showcasing your prowess in client acquisition and retention by having live files on which you are the responsible lawyer.
5. Marketing and networking: engage in marketing efforts online and in-person to sustain and expand your client base.
6. Attention to detail: meticulously organized with a keen eye for detail, ensuring precision in all aspects of your work.
7. Ethics and compliance: thorough understanding of Law Society rules, particularly those concerning Trust accounting.
8. Technological literacy: proficient in Microsoft Suite programs and adept at leveraging technology in your practice.
9. Exceptional communication skills: strong spoken and written communication skills, coupled with excellent interpersonal abilities.
10. Effective time management: ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Immigration application drafting: prepare and draft immigration and citizenship applications with accuracy and compliance.
2. Staff training and development: provide constructive training to support staff, fostering professional growth within the team.
3. Client and stakeholder relations: maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders, delivering exceptional service.
5. Public speaking: represent the firm at public speaking engagements, showcasing expertise and contributing to thought leadership.
6. Timekeeping: maintain accurate timekeeping records to ensure efficient workflow management.
7. Engaged learner: immigration law, policy, and procedure change weekly and it is essential to stay on top of the new information.
REMUNERATION AND LOCATION
1. Compensation structure: Benefit from a competitive incentive-based remuneration model, based on a percentage of billed and collected fees. When meeting all duties and responsibilities, you can anticipate $75,000 to $150,000 per year.

3. Office location: Experience a modern workspace at Suite 960 – 13401 108 Avenue, Surrey, BC, equipped with the necessary tools and resources to support your practice. We are mostly an in-person work environment but we can work from home one or two days per week once onboarding is complete and targets are being reached.
