POSITION SUMMARYJoin TNDC as our Manager, Human Resources and play akey leadership role in shaping the employee experience across a growing,Indigenous-owned organization. Reporting as a strategic business partner, youwill lead all aspects of human resources-including employee relations, talentacquisition, performance management, workforce development, and HRcompliance-while fostering a culture of respect, accountability, and highperformance.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES- Recruits,interviews, hires, and participates in training new HR staff.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Leads the corrective action process of employees in accordance with TNDC's values andpolicies.
- Oversight and leadership to Human Resource Team.
- Implement,review, oversee and manage all HR functions, systems, and processes across theorganization or designated work sites.
- Provideguidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and bestpractices.
- Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops andexecutes best practices for hiring and talent management.
- Supportrecruitment and onboarding strategies to attract, hire, and retain qualifiedcandidates.
- Administercompensation and benefits programs in alignment with company standards andbudget.
- Collaboratewith the Center of Excellence/ Training department regarding workplace traininginitiatives, including compliance, leadership development, and culturalcompetency.
- EnsureHR practices comply with applicable laws, regulations, and collectiveagreements (if applicable).
- Maintainaccurate employee records and HR documentation.
- Collaboratewith leadership to develop and implement HR strategies aligned withorganizational goals.
- Promotea positive work culture rooted in respect, inclusion, and accountability.
- Participatein strategic planning related to workforce development and organizationalstructure.
- Providementorship to HR staff and foster team development.
- Reportingand maintaining the HR dashboard.
- Otherduties as required for the success of TNDC.
- Bachelor'sdegree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field;CPHR/CHRP designation is considered an asset.
- 8-10+years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least 5 years ina supervisory or management role.
- Strongknowledge of British Columbia employment legislation, workplace health andsafety requirements, and HR best practices.
- Experiencein industrial, construction, mining, or remote work environments is consideredan asset.
- Experienceworking with Indigenous communities and a demonstrated commitment to culturalawareness, inclusion, and respect for diverse perspectives.
- Provenability to lead employee relations matters, conflict resolution processes,workplace investigations, and performance management initiatives.
- Demonstratedexperience in recruitment, workforce planning, talent acquisition, onboarding,and employee retention strategies.
- Knowledgeof compensation, benefits administration, total rewards programs, and HRreporting metrics.
- Experiencedeveloping, implementing, and maintaining HR policies, procedures, andprograms.
- Proficiencywith Microsoft Office, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), payrollsystems, and employee data management.
- Strongverbal and written communication skills with the ability to build effectiverelationships across all levels of the organization.
- Excellentorganizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, withthe ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstratedleadership skills with a commitment to fostering a positive, respectful, andhigh-performing workplace culture.
- Understandingof workplace safety standards, risk management practices, and a Safety First,Safety Always mindset.
- Abilityto work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectivelywith teams across multiple locations.
Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members, especiallylocal Tahltan workers, by sharing technical skills, safety practices, andindustry knowledge in a respectful and culturally aware manner. Uphold Tahltanvalues and principles by fostering a work environment built on respect,teamwork, and mutual learning. Support the growth of the Tahltan workforce byhelping build capacity, promoting safe and effective work practices, andensuring that knowledge is passed on to strengthen both the team and thebroader Tahltan community for the benefit of current and future generation.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT- Willingnessto sign an Oath of Confidentiality.
- Willingness to work occasional weekends, evenings, or extendedhours to meet deliverables during busy periods.
- Willing to travel to site or local offices regularly.
- Ability to manage stress and perform effectively under pressure.
- Ability to work in aremote and challenging environment.
- Successful completionof pre-access drug and alcohol screening.
- Valid class 5 driver'slicense.
- Remote work arrangement available forcandidates based in Dease Lake, BC, or hybrid work arrangement available fromTNDC's Vancouver, BC or Calgary, AB offices. Flexibility to work overtimeduring peak operational periods; ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Travel (up to 50%) to various TNDC sitesand offices.
- Standardwork hours with occasional evenings or weekends required to meet deadlines orsupport events and communications activities.
- Therole may require extended periods of sitting, working on a computer, andoccasional lifting of materials or equipment (e.g., promotional materials).
- Abilityto handle multiple projects, competing priorities, and tight deadlines in a afast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of work.
