
Web-Based Plant Biology Faculty Member
Thompson Rivers University seeks a passionate Open Learning Faculty Member to teach BIOL 3991: People and Plants. Engage students in plant biology through online research and collaborative activities. In this role, you will facilitate learning for 175-185 students per year in an online setting. A PhD in Biology and a strong background in plant biology or related ecology is required. You will provide necessary support to students, enhance their understanding of the critical role plants play globally, and guide their academic success. Key Responsibilities: • Set up and maintain course administrative records • Initiate regular communication with students • Respond promptly to student inquiries • Mark assignments and provide constructive feedback • Evaluate and grade exams accurately Requirements: • Strong expertise in plant biology or ecology • Experience in online education facilitation • Proficiency with educational technologies • Effective use of current pedagogical principles • Skills in developing flexible learning materials Share your knowledge of plant biology and engage students in meaningful learning experiences with Thompson Rivers University.
