
Air Quality Field Technician
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hybrid position between the office & travel.
- Must have the ability to travel between 2-5 days per week. Transportation will be provided.
- This position is Monday-Friday. (Very rare weekend trips could be required)
- Conduct onsite air quality sampling.
- Conduct onsite installations of meteorological and air quality equipment.
- Assist with operations including analyzer maintenance and calibrations in remote areas.
- Maintain company and client owned calibration reference standards.
- Provide meteorological sensor and air quality instrument calibration, maintenance, and audit services for clients in Canada with most in Northwest, British Columbia.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

- This position requires strong work ethic, attention to detail, problem solving skills, and the ability to work both with a team and independently.
- Basic mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic understanding is preferred.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
The following is preferred, but not required…
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, meteorology, or engineering. Practical field experience.
Working knowledge of the BC Field Sampling Manual, BC Air Quality Objectives and Standards, and the Canadian Ambient Air Quality Standards (CAAQS). Proficient in MS Windows operating environment, plus MS Office experience strongly preferred. Strong client interaction and internal/external communication skills. Experience with meteorological and air quality instrumentation strongly desired.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to speak, read and write general business correspondence in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Must be able to travel freely and frequently. Must be able to function on feet for up to 12 hours per day at field sites.. Climbing of towers may be needed.
