The Metals Inspector reports to the Stockpiling Supervisor, the Shredder Operations Supervisor, or the Terminal Operations Manager. The Metals Inspector is responsible for observing and monitoring the delivery of material to verify conformance to quality and quantity specifications, while ensuring that all of his/her efforts are compliant with the company Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Duties may include assisting with daily production operations, as well as receiving and stockpiling of materials and products. The Metals Inspector should possess knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and other techniques required for maximizing the receipt and transfer of quality product. The Groundman reports to the Stockpiling Supervisor, the JP Operations Supervisor, or the Terminal Operations Manager. The Groundman is responsible for general physical labor within the scrap yard while ensuring that all of his/her efforts are compliant with the company Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Duties may include utilization of hand and power tools, yard clean up and maintenance, and assisting other personnel through the yard. This position will contribute to the production team and help ensure goals are met safely and efficiently while conforming to all company policies. The Production Crew will process vehicles in a safe manner to produce core & scrap products, enable the customers to pull parts, and satisfy environmental requirements. Essential Functions: Follow company policy and procedures, as to set the example for the rest of the team. Degarbage: Remove Freon, power steering fluid, power brake fluid, batteries, excess garbage, and other items as prescribed by procedure. Drain: Remove gasoline, coolant, waste oil, transfer case oil, catalytic converters, and other items as prescribed by procedure. Set & Pull: Place vehicles on wheel stands so customers can safely access sellable parts. Remove vehicles and clean up the surrounding area in preparation for the next vehicle set.
