The Opportunity:

As a Team Leader, you will collaborate and work closely with the Branch Manager to support a positive people and client experience through effective communication, coaching and mentoring, and ensuring the achievement of team goals, as well as the overall satisfaction / engagement of both clients and team members.

What you will do:

Business Development:
  • Help develop business plans, and branch goals with the Branch Manager that when executed, will support the overall client experience and organic growth in the branch including:
    • New business, Leads, Private Auto, Business retention, ICBC, Personal Lines
  • Ensure an excellent and consistent client service experience, including responsibility for client concerns.
  • Support and promote HUB's best practices to all team members
  • Proactive ability to maximize on opportunities for efficiency.
  • Assist with creating the branch schedule to ensure an effective and engaging client experience.
  • Participate actively in both the business and industry communities to build a network of contacts that improve the presence and reputation of the branch and organization.
  • Ability to lead by example through being a positive role model to branch team members.
  • Coach and mentor team members in support of goal achievement.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Talent Management Responsibilities:
  • Provide a professional, positive work environment that attracts, retains and motivates talent.
  • Clear, concise and consistent communication (branch specific, corporate communications, etc.).
  • Coaching and developing employees.
  • Ensure meetings are held with feedback solicited from all team members. Meeting outcomes to be reported to branch manager and minutes maintained.
  • Foster and support a positive employee experience.

Operational Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with ICBC rules and regulations through regular check-ins and inspection. Including batching, inventory management, forms completion, document checking, renewal, calls, completing Policy Centre transactions, HUB best practices and training completion.
  • Ensure Auto staff are up to date and proactively looking for training opportunities to increase their expertise in Auto and Commercial Auto.
  • Support the Auto team with office and commercial auto transactions.
  • Work in collaboration with Branch Manager to ensure our commercial auto team continues to learn and grow to ensure high service levels and to document delivery and on call service on weekends.
  • Facilitate weekly Admin and Auto huddles.
  • Maintaining and growing the branch's book of business; including managing a personal lines book of business
  • Ensure consistent and effective application of all corporate policies and procedures as they apply to the business or to the employees
  • Work with staff to clean up discrepancies

What you will bring:
  • Level 2 General Insurance License.
  • A minimum of 2 year's insurance experience, with both ICBC and personal lines knowledge.
  • Commercial insurance experience an asset
  • Ability to work collaboratively with direct reports, colleagues and front line talent to create a results driven and team oriented environment.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a variety of individuals (internal and external).
  • Passion and firm understanding of the Insurance industry.
  • Demonstrated success of being a team player.
  • Strong organizational skills with a sharp attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and experience.
