We're looking for a Search Senior. The work location for this position is Burnaby, British Columbia, and is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.

The Opportunity:

RBA guarantees that all buyers will purchase equipment that is free and clear of encumbrances. To achieve this, we search for liens and request payouts from the creditors involved. This role specializes in risk management for both the Search & Review team functions as the company grows business profitability.

In this role you'll:
  • Play a lead role in all "at risk" files (Guarantees, Advances & Inventory Purchases, Iron Planet) adhering to compliance and resolutions in strong risk mitigation
  • Be responsible for the review of all deficiency files and collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Enhance business replicability and assist in front-end seller services loss prevention
  • Act as the liaison between Search & Review, with deep focus on implementing change and efficiency, done by improving current processes and best practices
  • Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and safety of your team, co-workers and customers.


Here's what you bring:
  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years' experience in Search or Review departments and proven understanding of company policies/procedures
  • Negotiation skills and problem resolution skills
  • Previous team lead experience is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and without direct supervision.


This job will require you to:
  • Make sound judgement calls on all risk files
  • Influence sales teams with clear objectives and resolutions when necessary
  • Be a liaison for search and review, providing the direct supervisor and department manager with business line recommendations
  • Ability to prioritize daily tasks and maintain a high level of quality assurance in the review of files
  • Negotiate with lienholders
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies with active, pending, deficient and high-risk files. Collaboration with all Customer Financial Operations and other departments as deemed necessary
  • Have open dialogue with direct supervisor/manager to enhance, seek and implement further efficiency opportunities in the "At Risk" process
  • Have the ability to escalate problematic files with Legal, Finance Leaders & Sales when necessary
  • Ensure timely responses
  • Make negotiations on loans, leases, contract amendments, payment information, collection & resolution.
