Job Description

With a demonstrated commitment to continuing and higher education, academic excellence and regulatory compliance expertise, the Director, Greystone College Canada will be responsible for providing exceptional leadership, knowledge and execution in college operations, curricular and instructional areas, compliance, program development and management.

Reporting to the Vice-President of Operations, Canada, the Director, Greystone College Canada will be responsible for the day to day school operations of Greystone College Canada colleges including; overseeing successful program delivery (academics, coop, and other programs), recruiting and hiring, staff mentoring & training including performance review, student support, budget control and maintaining compliance with regulatory bodies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

COMPLIANCE FUNCTIONS
  • Develop and administer quality control assessments to ensure the delivery of excellent service to client/staff/agents at Greystone College Canada
  • Work in collaboration with campus directors to identify and resolve operational, curricular and student support compliance issues.
  • Track student progress, retention, graduation, and job placement rates
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of all documentation for regulatory bodies in 3 provinces including EQA, PTIB, MCU, NACC, the Ministère de l'Éducation et de l'Enseignement supérieur, and ensure that all policies and procedures adhere to their standards
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial definitions related to international students in terms of full-time studies, work rights, post-graduation work right, Coop lengths, and more. In collaboration with the Curriculum team, ensure that these elements are correctly addressed in all curricular documentation
  • Regularly review publicly published information about the college to ensure that it is compliant
  • Actively lead campus audits


OPERATIONAL & HR FUNCTIONS
  • Oversee each of the colleges 's operations, including controlling KPIs to meet the budget, and other key financial metrics
  • Create and grow a culture of leadership, continuous improvement, collaboration and one focused on our core values
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, train and develop staff, and support the Greystone College management teams in developing strong academic teams
  • Develop & implement annual strategic, developmental plans for Greystone College Canada
  • Analyse all operational systems and oversee the development and maintenance of relevant and accurate national and school level policies and procedures manuals
  • Collaborate with School Directors and Student Advisor managers to further improve all Greystone Student Support services
  • Understand and know all relevant HR policies and ensure that these regulations are implemented and followed and administer an employee benefits program (holidays, sick days)
  • Support and inspire staff and develop a positive team spirit in staff, ensure clear and compassionate communications in the team


INSTRUCTIONAL & CURRICULUM FUNCTIONS
  • Lead the curriculum team to develop and deliver on new programs while continuously improving the academic quality of our current programs
  • Lead the academic management team to ensure the quality delivery of all programs and courses
  • Bridge the work of the curriculum team with the work of the Academic management team and of the sales team to ensure that new courses and curriculum are implemented successfully
  • Work with the academic management team, to lead a culture of continual learning and improvement
  • Observe and evaluate the quality of teaching provided at Greystone College Canada
  • Collaborate with the University Pathways department to build partnerships between Greystone programs and University or College programs
  • Ensure the effectiveness of our student support systems leading to high retention graduation and job placement rates.


COOP / WORK EXPERIENCE FUNCTIONS
  • Lead the Coop team to ensure that it becomes a driving force in our future students' selection of Greystone College thanks to its comprehensive support of student work outcomes.
  • Network with Greystone College Canada employers (COOP) to expand opportunities at career fairs, coop and placement departments
  • Guide and support the COOP team to meet successful project deliverables and general KPIs.
  • Ensure Work Experience compliance requirements are met within the Coop program.
  • Further develop, adapt and maintain efficient systems and services such as coop and placement, graduation rates, career fairs, orientation, extra-curricular programming.


STUDENT, SALES & AGENT SUPPORT
  • Based on feedback from the students (student satisfaction surveys or discussions), agents and sales team, address and execute on improved strategies to increase satisfaction and demand.
  • Deal with all complaints in a timely, collaborative, and professional manner
  • Where and when needed, promote Greystone College through public relations, promotional activities, and sales endeavours
  • Use Social Media presence to actively promote and celebrate Greystone College Successes


EXTERNAL FOCUS
  • Be knowledgeable, involved and up to date with the international education industry and local community
  • Encourage an external focus and related growth with staff, especially managers

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree in a closely related field, such as international studies, business administration, educational leadership, etc.
  • Minimum of 5 years' full-time management experience in the fields of international education and/or business administration
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Career/Vocational/Higher Education, teaching, curriculum design, admissions, compliance and/or assessment.
  • Demonstrated record of experience managing content, course, and program development; academic quality assurance standards; and identifying and developing new business opportunities while supporting existing programs and services
  • Demonstrated knowledge of compliance requirements for private career colleges in at least one of the jurisdictions where we operate.
  • Record of experience managing academic programs in a fast-paced, fast-growth, multicultural, complex program environment
  • Experience overseeing financial and business operations and supervising senior and junior administrative and instructional employees
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally (less than 20%)
