The Opportunity:

We're looking for a Program Manager to join the Business Initiatives & Operations Group.

Reporting to Director, Project Enablement, the Program Manger will be responsible for ensuring programs / their constituent projects produce the required products/solutions/services that will attain the business case while managing delivery within the stated tolerances of time, cost, quality, scope and risk.

What your day looks like:
  • Prepare baseline management products and agree them with the program/project steering committee including a formal initiation document, phase or stage plans
  • Design, form, lead and motivate the team and liaise with external suppliers required to deliver the program/project outcomes
  • Ensure the roles, responsibilities, accountability and behavioural expectations of the team members are established
  • Managing the flow of information between the delivery and directing levels of the project organization
  • Manage the production of the required products taking responsibility for overall progress and use of resources and initiating corrective action where necessary
  • Establish and manage the project's procedures (risk, issue, change control, communication, configuration management)
  • In line with Aviso standards/practice, establish and manage the controls, reporting, monitoring and analyzing outputs and outcomes against requirements, advising the steering committee of deviations from plan and management actions employed to return within agreed performance thresholds
  • Schedule and facilitate health assessments to ensure the project management and team delivery practices are being applied to standard


Your experience and skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Recognized, industry standard Program/Project Management Certification: PRINCE2, MSP, SAFe or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Specialist qualifications such as scheduling or risk management desirable.
  • Completion of the Canadian Securities certification or Financial Service Experience preferred
  • 15 years of work experience with a minimum of 5 years project management experience and 2 years' experience as a Program Manager
  • 5+ years Mutual fund, securities, and/or insurance industry experience preferred
  • Experience with program lifecycle disciplines and integrated systems lifecycle development utilizing multiple development models (e.g., agile, waterfall, hybrid, etc.)
  • Proven track record of leading multiple projects/programs across organizations and building cross functional relationships
  • Track record of providing verbal and written executive level summaries across stakeholders at all levels
  • Comfortable with changing specifications and standards, and leading the team to deliver through ambiguity
  • Functional knowledge of project accounting and budget planning, cost control, capital/expense approval and management procedures required for project tracking
  • Superior negotiating, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills with broad knowledge and expertise in technology focused business practices
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset
