Job Summary

We are looking for a Director, Global Logistics and Inventory to manage the storage, distribution, and inventory management of goods to manufacturing sites and end-customers. Reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain, you will be responsible for global logistics & distribution, operational excellence, inventory management, and import/export compliance. You will need to ensure the right products are delivered to the right location on time at a competitive cost. You will be responsible for managing the contracts with all carrier and warehouse partners and tracking and reporting to budgets. The scope of the role also includes involvement in transportation, stock control, warehousing, and monitoring the flow of goods.

Responsibilities
    • Responsible for managing movement, tracking, warehousing, and shipping of finished goods. Ensure all Supply Chain processes are efficient and maintain cost performance measures.
    • Develop departmental standards that support lean principles and lead/implement processes. Lead cross-functional projects that will enhance the supply chain logistics operations. Manage direct and indirect staff.
    • Develop/implement strategies that will increase the efficiency of goods movement and warehousing as well as reduce damage to products during loading and transit.
    • Determine logistics best practices to identify new and/or unique programs to differentiate Customers from the marketplace and drive customer satisfaction.
    • Responsible for internal communications and presentations related to KPl's, program updates, and ongoing program information.
    • Forecast and recommends logistics budget for approval, including third-party logistics, warehouse, and freight spend. Monitors spending for adherence to budget, recommends variances as necessary
    • Responsible for the strategic and operational planning of logistics operations.
    • Track, analyze, and communicate key performance metrics. Responsible for all logistics operations and support across all distribution channels.
    • Drive the design, development, implementation, and management of logistics solutions.
    • Lead projects to develop a best-in-class commercial distribution model.
    • Manage and interact with suppliers of logistics, packaging, warehousing, and distribution as well as with internal Supply Chain to ensure that all relevant requirements of delivery, cost, and quality are met.
    • Oversee and manage the outsourced global logistics supplier network to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and compliant shipment of commercial and development products.
    • Oversee and drive required processes and training for import and export requirements globally. Also manage and maintain all product classification globally.
    • Responsible for inventory management compliance programs, excess and obsolescence management, and factory safety stock administration


Required Education, Experience & Skills
    • BS degree is required. MBA is a plus.
    • 10+ years of manufacturing production/operations, management, inventory management experience is required.
    • Experience in High Technology products as well as global experience with import/export compliance and product classifications.
    • Knowledge of warehouse management systems.
    • Functional ability using MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Access.
    • Highly skilled project management and collaborative alignment capabilities. Ability to draw insights from data and develop collaborative solutions to supply chain challenges.
    • Self-starter that is able to multi-task, practices continuous improvement and is detail oriented.
    • Superior written, oral and presentation skills and an ability to synthesize information and make clear concise recommendations on course of action.
    • Strong Leadership skills.
