About the role

The MMU operator has day to day responsibility for the mobile manufacture and delivery of bulk explosives to customers. A variety of explosives are manufactured for both wet and dry hole applications and these are delivered in mobile manufacturing units.

Job purpose: To operate equipment and support plant operations to provide blasting products and services to customers. To provide a quality service in the manufacture of bulk explosives to our customers in a safe and environmentally conscious manner.

The schedule for this role will be 2 weeks in, 2 weeks out. You will need to be open to flying in and out for this position. There will be a travel allowance provided, if you qualify.

Region - Northern BC / Arctic

What you will be doing

  • Preventative maintenance, greasing schedule including focus parts and process toclean/change all filters.
  • Demonstrated ability on lock out/tag out, safety systems and controls
  • Ability to maneuver on the road and on customer property in a safe manner.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the inside of Orica vehicles at all times.
  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to quickly determine potential issues and problem solveaccordingly.
  • Requires thorough and meticulous completion of regulatory paperwork
  • Reliable and dependable


What you will bring

  • Grade 12 education
  • 2 yrs bulk explosives experience
  • 2 yrs heavy industry experience (mining experience a plus)
  • Class 3 License with Air Endorsement required
  • Ability to provide a Canadian Firearms License or a clear criminal check
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical
