Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer to be based in Burnaby, British Columbia.

This position is expected to begin in August 2022.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist the Construction Manager and the Inspectors in all office tasks such as assisting in compiling and filing the project inspectors' shift reports, and assisting in compiling the overall project quantities.
  • Assist document control, filing the RFI logs, Submittal logs, Change Order logs, and Correspondence logs
  • Planning and design of various project elements
  • Prepare documentation for design projects and reports
  • Undertake quality control procedures
  • Assures that engineering related issues are promptly relayed to the Project Manager for action and follows up to assure timeliness of resolution efforts
  • Design for municipal infrastructure using AutoCAD/Civil 3D. Knowledge of the use of CAD is not a priority but is an asset
  • Maintaining a current set of as-built drawings in the office with the assistance of the Inspectors
  • Ensuring overall data quality and integrity
  • Preparing meeting minutes and distribution to all members, Metro Vancouver staff, key stakeholders, and personnel attending the meetings
  • Coordinate the QA Testing Lab for material testing; stay in constant communication with the CM and inspectors when scheduling specialty inspection visits; file Acceptance Test Summary log
  • Adaptable to work between water resources projects and civil infrastructure /municipal design projects as may be necessary.
  • Preparation of project reports, hydraulic models, calculations, drawings, construction plans and specifications, permitting packages, and documents for inclusion in the final project deliverable as necessary for the bidding and construction of designed work
  • Perform QA (civil/E&M) inspection as needed
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Due to the nature of work, Canadian Citizenship is required for this position
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
