We are seeking a Junior Data Analyst to join our lean and agile team in our Burnaby BC facility, located at 8057 N Fraser Way, Burnaby BC. The Junior Data Analyst will support the Battery and Powertrain Integration team with data collection, analysis, and organization to further reporting and modeling related to environmental impacts, energy efficiency, and sustainability tracking.

Duties & Responsibilities:

General Requirements
  • Gather, format, and analyze telematics data to validate requirements and use as model inputs
  • Collect and organize company level data related to environmental impacts in support of corporate social responsibility reporting.
  • Audit life cycle impact models following annual updates to software and best available information
  • Conduct benchmarking research on industry trends and best practices surrounding sustainability initiatives, low-impact materials, and life cycle analysis
  • Process and organize vehicle performance test data
  • Other duties as required and assigned by company management.
  • Collaborates with key suppliers and supports
  • Understands and effectively uses company systems, such as Jira, Confluence, and Bamboo HR

  • 0-2 years of experience working in the sustainability field reporting on life cycle or environmental impacts including co-ops
  • Degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • A bachelor's degree in an engineering field is required.
  • Experience or coursework in data analytics would be considered an asset
  • A strong interest in reducing individual and organizational carbon footprints, implementing sustainability initiatives, and energy efficiency
  • Strong computer skills - Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook are essential.
  • Experience with the following tools is an asset:
    • Software: GREET, GaBi, SimaPro, MatLab, Kvaser CanKing
    • Data loggers and data acquisition: Kvaser Leaf, Memorator
    • Databases: Ecoinvent, OpenLCA
    • Programming: Python, C++, Visual Basic
  • Extremely well organized with excellent time management and communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Well-developed, independent work ethic
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal oversight
  • Legally able to work in Canada.
