Job Profile

The Assistant Manager assists in the coordination and direction of the daily operations of food and beverage service for both events and outlets operations as required.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Embodies a forward-moving, highly collaborative, fully accountable and inspired vertical mindset
  • Actively promotes a vertical mindset in the work place
  • Coaching and training staff to upgrade service experience
  • Assist with employee reviews and employee development
  • Assists with recruiting & screening of new hires
  • Liaise with all hotel department as necessary to ensure total guest satisfaction
  • Assist with the management and coordination of all aspects of the event bookings including: arrival, departure, room setup, room flips, last minute additions, audio visual requirements and meal functions
  • Assisting with the management and coordination of all aspects of the operations including: greeting, seating, food running, steps of service, table settings, product knowledge, reservations, meal plans/vouchers, POS updating & operation, alcohol service and policy
  • Assisting with schedule management- shift changes & call-ins
  • Assisting with Beverage Controls, inventories, ordering and receiving
  • Manages Events and Restaurant floor
  • Liaise with event organizers to ensure satisfaction
  • Liaise with kitchen team to ensure operational success and food quality
  • Setting expectations for catering setups and preparation duties
  • Daily opening floor checks and closing floor checks
  • Performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs

Qualifications
  • Possess a positive attitude and works well with other team members

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Possess a professional demeanour
  • Flexibility with scheduling to meet business and operational needs
  • Minimum 2 years in a food & Beverage supervisory role
  • Must be willing to work full-time without restrictions

Physical requirements
  • Ability to push, pull, reach, bend, stoop and lift to 50 pounds
  • Constant standing and walking for a minimum of 4 hours at one time
  • Occasional ascending or descending flights of stairs
  • Balance a tray of up to 20lbs while walking
