We have a career opportunity for a Production Supervisor at our Delta, BC manufacturing facility, providing candidates with a unique opportunity to build their operations experience and leadership skills. The Delta, BC facility is a mid-size production plant that produces private label tea products. This is a Day shift role, scheduled from 5:45 am to 2:15 pm. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for the effective direct leadership of approximately 30 production employees. The Production Supervisor has direct responsibility for maintaining safety and quality standards, as well as completing production schedules in the most efficient manner possible through setting clear expectations, maintaining accountability and establishing a supportive working environment.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Accomplishes results by training, scheduling, assigning, and coaching employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, evaluating job contributions and developing personal growth opportunities while adhering to the highest standards of safety, quality and cost control.
  • Meets operational standards by implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; and by initiating and fostering a spirit of teamwork and cooperation within and between departments, teams and shifts.
  • Ensures that departmental methods and work standards are performed safely and in accordance with good manufacturing practices.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules when necessary and resolving problems.
  • Records production by completing daily shift production reports; calculating key performance indicators, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all SQF guidelines (Safe Quality Food), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) requirements, all Food Safety and Food Quality and Food Defense requirements, all HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), as applicable.
  • Report all Food Safety, Food Quality, Food Defense and GMP issues immediately.
  • Recommend measures to improve safety, quality of product, production methods, and equipment performance by using Lean methodologies.
  • Monitor data and metrics to identify areas of waste and prioritize the development and implementation of solutions.
  • Responsible for daily review of employees' Kronos timecards.
  • Takes an active role in Plant committees, such as the Safety Committee and the Food Safety Committee.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Skills, Experience and Education:
  • Bachelors degree is preferred but not required
  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment required, preferably in the food industry
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing methodologies and Six sigma approach
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours/shifts - including weekends, as needed
  • Demonstrated drive to continuously improve operations
  • PC Skills: Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and others as needed
