Lead Planner

Progesys is a recognized firm in project management and the optimal transition of these projects from construction to operation. The company has been based in Laval (Canada) since 2002 and has offices in the United States, the Middle East, Asia and South America.

Progesys is looking for a Lead Planner to work on a major underground mining projet in Vancouver, BC.

Main Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project execution schedules, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives and milestones.
• Establish and manage project monitoring systems to track progress from initiation through to commissioning and start-up.
• Integrate engineering, procurement, and construction data to create and maintain accurate work packages and progress curves.
• Prepare and analyze progress, productivity, and performance reports to support project management decisions.
• Support the implementation and integration of cost control systems, budgets, and work breakdown structures (WBS).
• Monitor and report on project costs, budgets, forecasts, and invoicing to ensure financial control and transparency.
• Identify schedule and cost variances, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
• Participate in risk management activities, including schedule risk analysis and mitigation planning.
• Evaluate and update cost and schedule impacts resulting from scope changes in accordance with company standards and procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistent planning practices and efficient project execution.
• Perform other planning and project control duties as required to support successful project delivery.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering or other relevant training.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a planning role on industrial projects, more particularly on construction sites in underground mining projects
• Experience working with Primavera P6
• Excellent communication, in English
• Thorough knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel is essential
• Autonomy, leadership, business acumen and good spirit of synthesis.
• Ability to work in a constantly changing environment
