Enhance the local agriculture landscape as a full-time Agricultural Planning Coordinator with Planning and Development Services in Comox Valley. This role is focused on sustainable practices and sector growth. You will coordinate the development and implementation of agricultural policies that strengthen the local food system and promote climate resilience. The position involves significant interaction with the local agriculture community, government bodies, and various stakeholders. Expect to facilitate collaboration and drive initiatives that align with the goals of the Comox Valley Agricultural Plan. Key Responsibilities: • Lead agricultural policy implementation and monitoring • Build strategic relationships with the agriculture community • Enhance communication between CVRD and farming stakeholders • Research agricultural trends for effective planning • Support public engagement on rural agriculture planning Requirements: • Four-year degree in Agriculture or a related field • Three years in agricultural planning or community development • Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices • Competence in professional report creation • Valid BC Class 5 driver's license Advance sustainable agriculture and food resilience in the vibrant Comox Valley community.
