The organization we are representing is a fast-growing, construction-focused equipment rental company serving contractors who demand trusted equipment, high service levels, and partners who solve complex site challenges. They supply a broad range of fleet and site-support solutions and are building a differentiated business around operational excellence, reliability, and customer experience.

They are currently seeking a Director of Operations who can build and run the internal operating engine that makes sustainable growth possible. The new hire will be responsible for professionalizing day-to-day execution, institutionalizing best practices, and building the operational backbone that allows the organization to scale efficiently and predictably.

This full-time, permanent role owns execution across operations, maintenance, logistics, parts, rentals, systems, and people development and will be based in Delta, BC.

Responsibilities Operational Leadership
    • Own full day-to-day operations including yard operations, logistics and dispatch, maintenance, parts, and rental execution
    • Revamp, enforce, and continuously improve Operational processes and workflows.
    • Design and implement operational capacity plans to stay ahead of the company's growth trajectory
    • Ensure every department is executing to defined standards and metrics with clear accountability at every level
    • Proactively surface and resolve operational bottlenecks before they impact customers or revenue

    • Own ERP system optimization, configuration integrity, and user adoption across all departments
    • Build KPI dashboards and department scorecards so leadership has real-time visibility into what matters
    • Implement and run EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) or equivalent operating framework
    • Ensure knowledge is embedded in documentation and systems, not concentrated in individuals
People & Organization
    • Lead, develop, and hold accountable all operational department managers - build a strong, self-sufficient leadership layer
    • Own the performance management system: goal setting, regular reviews, and genuine accountability for results
    • Design operational org structure and resourcing plans to support scale
    • Build leadership bench strength and redundancy, ensure no single person is a critical dependency
    • Drive training, development programs, and a culture of continuous improvement across all operational teams
    • Own internal project prioritization and end-to-end execution - from scope to delivery
    • Drive a culture of continuous improvement: identify root causes, implement fixes, and prevent recurrence
    • Systematically identify and eliminate operational friction points that slow the team or create customer impact
    • Ensure problems are solved once, correctly, and permanently - not patched repeatedly
    • Maintain an improvement roadmap that is aligned to company's growth priorities and direction from the Vice President
Qualifications Experience & Background
    • Proven senior operations leader at Director or VP level with a record of scaling multi-department businesses
    • Experience in asset-intensive or operationally complex environments such as equipment rental, logistics, or construction
    • Built operating systems and SOP frameworks from the ground up, establishing structure and accountability
    • Led ERP implementation or major system optimization with enterprise-wide adoption
    • Owned full operational budgets with clear P&L accountability and measurable performance outcomes

    • Adaptable and forward-looking in dynamic environments
    • Persuasive and capable of aligning cross-functional stakeholders
    • Committed to ongoing professional growth and organizational development

    • Highly structured; brings clarity and order to complex initiatives
    • Strong planner and organizer who sequences work effectively
    • Identifies root causes and drives disciplined problem resolution
    • Communicates risks early with context and proposed solutions
    • Challenges assumptions using logic and data rather than hierarchy
    • Moves with urgency while maintaining quality and control
