Food Service Supervisor

Position Details

Job Duties

• Plan, assign, supervise and direct work of food service staff.
• Supervise daily food service operations and staff to meet service standards and sales targets.
• Advise management of purchasing requirements with a focus on minimizing waste and avoiding product shortages.
• Ensure that staff follow approved recipes and established portioning, presentation and production standards to maintain consistent food quality and proper serving temperatures.
• Establish work schedules based on anticipated sales, customer volume and operational requirements
• Train employees in their job duties, food preparation procedures, sanitation, workplace safety and customer-service standards.
• Maintain records relating to inventory, sales, food wastage, equipment maintenance and staff schedules.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure that food, supplies and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
• Address customer concerns and resolve service-related complaints.
• Ensure compliance with food-safety, sanitation and occupational health and safety requirements.
• Assist with food preparation and service during busy periods when required.

Employment Requirements

• Completion of secondary school is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in food preparation or food service is required.
• Ability to supervise and train employees effectively.
• Strong organizational, communication and customer-service skills.
• Must be available to work varying shifts.
