Role Description The Certified Millwright will work full time on-site in Vanderhoof, BC, performing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics, aligning and assembling mechanical components, and performing preventive and corrective maintenance. The role involves using hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and rigging equipment to safely move and position machinery. The millwright will inspect equipment for wear or defects, replace or repair parts, and collaborate with other trades and supervisors to minimize downtime and maintain efficient plant operations. The position also requires strict adherence to safety procedures, documentation of work performed, and participation in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Certified Millwright (Red Seal or equivalent) with demonstrated experience in industrial machinery installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, including proficiency with alignment, assembly, and troubleshooting of pumps, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics, and to follow work orders and maintenance plans accurately.
• Competence in using hand tools, power tools, lifting and rigging equipment, and precision measuring instruments safely and effectively.
• Solid understanding of workplace safety practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, and other trades.
• Physical capability to perform tasks that may include lifting, climbing, standing for extended periods, and working in industrial environments.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the Vanderhoof, BC site; willingness to work shifts or overtime as required.
• Previous experience in industrial, manufacturing, forestry, mining, or related sectors is an asset.
